First steps – useful applications

· 1 September 2021

It doesn’t matter when we start. It doesn’t matter where we start. What matters is that we start.

Simon Sinek

At the beginning of 2020, when I started conversations with beekeepers, I had no idea how many challenges they face in today’s world. With each discussion, I learned about new issues that demanded solutions. Every person I spoke to pointed me toward new paths, the idea board quickly filled up, and my head began to spin from the sheer number of possibilities.

At the same time, while exploring the solutions available on the market to support beekeepers in their daily work, I noticed many recurring themes. The market is flooded with apps attempting to create digital beekeeping journals or ideas for smart hives that, aside from digitizing current beekeeping practices, rarely address specific problems in a meaningful way.

Another application for beekeepers

As a manager of development teams, I strive to lead projects in a way that pinpoints the core of the problem to be solved. I strongly oppose creating solutions that fail to address specific issues or aim to solve problems that don’t actually require solutions.

Therefore—after conducting numerous interviews—I decided to launch the initiative Beekeeper’s Partner. Its goal is to develop a range of innovative applications that serve as practical tools for beekeepers. The idea quickly caught the interest of my colleagues at my current company, leading to the formation of our experienced development team.

Vision of Beekeepers Partner solutions

Striving to revolutionize the current market for beekeeping applications, we use our expertise to create intuitive and practical solutions. Our goal is to be a beekeeper’s ally every step of the way, adapting to their current needs.

We develop our applications in collaboration with beekeepers. Through early testing with a group of real users, we aim to refine our solutions to ensure they perform well under the demanding conditions of beekeeping work.

We believe that with carefully selected functionalities, we can connect beekeepers with others in the industry—whether fellow beekeepers, queen bee breeders, honey product buyers, veterinarians, or beekeeping associations.

At the same time, we strive to make our solutions affordable, accessible to everyone, on every platform, and in every corner of the world.

The first step is behind us.

Guided by the above vision, we have spent the last 12 months working on our first solutions for beekeepers and queen bee breeders. It hasn’t been easy—limited time and the Covid-19 pandemic slowed progress more than we would have liked. The demanding conditions of working with hives continue to present us with new challenges.

It has also been a time of meeting many wonderful people, deeply invested in advancing and improving beekeeping in Poland. Thanks to them, we know that our solutions are needed and have the potential to become valuable support tools for beekeepers in their daily work.

I’ll share more details about the applications in future posts. If you’d like to test them yourself, we invite you to join our testing group.
